Tate Modern - Sunflower Seed Exhibition by Chinese artist Ai Weiwei

Over the weekend i had a chance to pop into the Tate Modern to have a look at the latest Turbine hall installation. Artist Ai Weiwei has filled the hall with 100,000,000 porcelain sunflower seeds, each piece is unique, being both individually handmade and hand painted by a small army of artisans.

It's a shame that a few days after opening visitors are no longer allowed to interact freely with the piece, i really wanted to walk over the porcelain and feel it crunch under my feet. Still i managed to find a video of Ai Weiwei talking about the piece on the Tate Modern site which gives a good explanation of the work

There are more photos on Flickr as well as some photos of the new Tate Modern extension (which looks great!)
